Project Overview
Mobile application that was part of a longer term project with the goal of evaluating and improving a comprehensive and large tool suite by unifying user experience, interaction, and visual design principles across the entire suite.
Contributions & Process
Visual design lead for this program.
Worked with a large team of UX designers, researchers, engineers, and product managers to establish a set of user experience guidelines that could be utilized broadly across the organization to streamline and homogenize the software application suite.
This application is a prime example of an established unifying look and feel used across mobile (android) and desktop (windows, mac, and linux).
Created a set of 200+ approved icons that can be used by the UX and engineering teams to homogenize the visual representation of functions across the tool suite.
Worked closely with development engineers to ensure the appropriate implementation of the visual design guidelines and icons, and provide consultation on visual design or interaction design as needed. Field regular, ongoing requests from teams for support and asset requirements.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, product, legal, and marketing to obtain buy-in on visual design mockups, interaction/layout, and branding.
Results
After re-design, the monthly downloads of this application increased by 40x and individual page views by 739%. Application user rating is over 4 starts out of 5.
